Why the Paleo Diet should be a Family Affair

If you have ever been brave enough to attempt a dietary change, you know how difficult it can be.  Even more challenging is attempting that change while the rest of your household eats the same old way.  Why is this so hard?  Well… When you get home from a long day of work on a Friday night and there’s a glutinous, processed, hyper-palatable, calorie-dense, nutrient-deficient plate of food waiting for you, are you prepared to say, “Go ahead guys, I’m just going to whip up some meat and veg.”?

Not likely.  Eating is one of the most communal acts that we participate in and from a social point-of-view, it needs to be inclusive.

Reason #2 is that we eat what is in the house.  Paleo families need to purge!  If the food that makes you feel the best in the short term (and worst in the long term) <your comfort food (i.e. worst food possible)> is close at hand, so is a bad food decision.

Lastly, our favorite reason to serve a Paleo meal is freedom without enabling.  If someone would like to eat elsewhere, they are always welcome to.  No one HAS to eat what you are eating, and you don’t have to serve food that will contribute to poor short and long term health.

If you are looking for answers or wondering why everyone is talking about the “Paleo Diet”, join us on August 24, 2013!  Our team can answer your questions and help guide you on your path.

Educated on the most up-to-date and relevant science behind eating Paleo, we have solutions for common problems that people struggle to find remedies for.

Special Guest African Dance Ensemble

“Our doors are open to all humans: all ethnicities, beliefs, and ages: whoever you are, ‘Mother Africa loves you’. As we stand in the limelight of cultural responsibility we deem the importance of humanity first because ‘art’ is about humans. Our lives are reflected in our dances and our dances and songs reflect our visions. Our visions and inspirations connect us to our ancestors.”

Four members of the Ensemble will be joining us for PrimalFest.

Community

Through PrimalFest, we can build a community of people learning a more fundamental way of being.

A Day Event

PrimalFest is a day-long gathering of people interested in learning more about primal living and healing. This inaugural event is taking place on a private rural homestead in the beautiful St. John’sValley in the heart of the Niagara Region. It is organized by a collective of local natural health practitioners who are passionate sharing their knowledge about the benefits of ‘primal living’.
